The brief

Sharp marked its 108th anniversary with a new-product launch in a hotel ballroom, and the event needed a genuine 8K live broadcast to match — an 8K brand showing its products in true 8K, not upscaled 4K. For a company so closely associated with ultra-high-definition, the broadcast itself had to live up to the standard: every product reveal sharp, stable and true to the resolution on stage. Anything less than genuine 8K would have undercut the very story the launch was there to tell.

What we did

We covered the ballroom with a true 8K multi-camera setup, framing the stage and the product reveals for maximum detail, and encoded the 8K signal in real time for live delivery. A dedicated technical director cut the program feed while our engineers held redundant encoding and streaming paths ready throughout the launch.

The lighting and camera positions were set to preserve true 8K detail on the products, and the show was rehearsed end-to-end before doors opened. Because an anniversary launch runs to a fixed program, every cue and every camera move was tested in full 8K first, so the live cut stayed clean from the opening to the final reveal.

The result

A genuine 8K live broadcast of Sharp's 108th anniversary launch — new products shown in the same ultra-high-definition standard the brand is known for. The same 8K program was down-converted simultaneously to 4K and HD so every screen received the best feed it could show, and the 8K masters were retained for on-demand and large-format display use. The broadcast let Sharp present its anniversary and its new products in the resolution its name stands for, so the medium reinforced the message instead of undercutting it. For a milestone 108 years in the making, the launch was shown with the fidelity the brand has built its reputation on.
