Event Video Series for a Major Cloud-Computing Summit

The brief

A major cloud-computing summit — the Alibaba Cloud Summit as a named public event — needed a full video series produced across the event: keynote films, on-stage interviews and an industry-technology feature. The material had to serve the summit itself and its afterlife, capturing the ideas on stage with the pace and finish expected of a leading technology event and turning them around quickly enough to use while the summit was still live.

What we did

We ran a multi-camera crew across the summit, capturing keynotes in full and shaping them into standalone films that carried each speaker's argument. An interview director led on-stage and side-stage conversations with speakers and industry figures, and we produced an industry-technology feature that drew the event's themes into a single narrative piece.

Editors and a colourist worked on-site so key sessions could be cut, graded and delivered on a same-event schedule — ready for stage playback, online publishing and social channels while the summit was still in progress. This on-site turnaround meant footage shot in a morning session could screen or publish that same afternoon, keeping the video series in step with the live agenda. A bilingual producer kept the series consistent across formats and suitable for both domestic and international audiences, and masters of the key sessions were archived for later use.

The result

A complete event video series — keynotes, interviews and a technology feature — captured and edited across the summit. The client left with polished films ready for on-stage playback, online distribution and follow-up communications, produced fast enough to support the event as it happened and durable enough to represent it afterwards. Together the films give the summit a lasting record of its ideas — a library the organiser can draw on for promotion, recap and next year's build-up.
