The brief
At Mobile World Congress, ZTE wanted to prove its 5G capability in the most tangible way possible: a genuine live 8K feed, carried over 5G, streamed onto the stand's ultra-HD display. The plan called for a first — an 8K camera set high above Shanghai, overlooking both banks of the Huangpu River, streaming live to the show floor.
What we did
We led the 8K production end to end. A true 8K camera was positioned on a Shanghai high-rise; the signal was encoded in real time and carried live over 5G to the exhibition booth, where it played on an 8K display wall. The work was delivered in partnership with Sharp and Socionext — one of a long-running series of end-to-end 8K broadcasts we have delivered together.
Our bilingual producer coordinated the exhibitor's team in English while the crew ran the shoot on the ground, and we tested the 5G uplink and full 8K chain before the exhibition opened.
The result
A live 8K cityscape over 5G, playing on the stand throughout MWC — a headline demonstration that put real, moving 8K in front of a global telecoms audience. Beyond the live feed, we produced 8K content for the booth's display wall, reinforcing the exhibitor's position at the front of the ultra-HD and 5G story.
