A Hybrid Innovation Conference in China with a Virtual Studio (Johnson & Johnson)
Annual innovation conference for a global healthcare company, produced as a hybrid event with a green-screen virtual studio, a large LED backdrop and a live-mixed program.

- On-site audience + online simulcast
- Live-mixed hybrid program feed
- Green-screen virtual studio segments
- Large-LED stage integration
- Recorded program masters
The brief
Johnson & Johnson holds an annual innovation conference, and this edition needed to work as a hybrid event — a live on-site audience and an online audience sharing one program. The brief called for a green-screen virtual studio and a large LED backdrop, mixed live so speakers, virtual environments and on-stage content moved as a single, coherent show. For an innovation conference, the production itself had to feel current — visually ambitious, but rock-steady on the day.
What we did
We built a green-screen virtual studio for the segments that needed a fully controlled virtual environment, and integrated it with a large LED stage for the live in-room presentations. A dedicated technical director mixed the program live, cutting between camera feeds, virtual-studio segments and LED content so the show read as one continuous broadcast to both audiences.
The virtual-studio keying and the LED content were matched for color and framing so the two worlds looked like one stage, and streaming engineers held redundant paths ready throughout. Everything was rehearsed end-to-end before the doors opened, because a live-mixed hybrid show has to hold together for the on-site room and the online audience at the same time.
The result
A hybrid innovation conference that blended a green-screen virtual studio and a large LED stage into one live-mixed program. The on-site audience saw a polished stage show while the online audience received a broadcast-quality live stream of the same program, and recorded masters were retained for on-demand viewing and internal use. The format let the company stage a controlled, camera-ready innovation showcase without choosing between an in-room event and an online one. The virtual studio gave the show creative range that a plain stage could not, while the live mix kept the whole event coherent from the first speaker to the last.
